Sussex County Council presented a $25,000 check to the Food Bank of Delaware on Tuesday, July 24 as a donation toward the organization's multi-million dollar capital campaign at its Milford branch.
The Food Bank plans to build an industrial-sized kitchen to prepare meals for children in after-school programs. It also hopes to house the culinary school that serves the less fortunate, individuals in prison re-entry programs and the disabled.
Food Bank still needs to raise another $1 million. Groundbreaking on the new addition is scheduled for September 17.
