Clinton J. Smith, 84, of Palm Bay, FL, formerly of Seaford, DE died Friday, July 13, 2012 at Palm Bay Community Hospital. He was the son of the late Edwin L. Smith and Oleta Smith of Georgetown, DE.
He graduated from Georgetown High School in 1945, spent four years in the U.S. Navy and was employed at the E. I. DuPont Plant in Seaford, DE for 37 years. He gave to the community by serving as a hospice volunteer. He was 32nd degree Mason with a fifty-five year membership between the Franklin Lodge No. 12, F. & A.M. in Georgetown DE and Harbor City Lodge No. 318 in Melbourne, FL; a member of the Evergreen Forest 49, Tall Cedars of Lebanon.
He was an outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and distributing blue bird boxes in Sussex County, DE. He enjoyed singing with the Cannon U.M. Church Choir in DE and GoodTime Singers in Holiday Park.
Clinton was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Peggy) Larson Smith of six years and his wife Alice Dean Smith of 25 years. He is survived by his sister Mildred Wells of Seaford,, Margaret A. McWilliams of Fenwick Island, and Jean Beach and husband Howard of Fenwick Island and Palm Bay, FL and several step children, nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held at Sussex Pines Golf Club located in Georgetown, DE on Friday, August 3rd. Relatives and friends may gather at 10:30 a.m., service at 11:00 a.m. Interment at 2:00 p.m. at Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro, DE.
