At approximately 2:30 p.m. today, the Firefly Festival announced through Facebook that pre-sale tickets have sold out. Regularly priced tickets will go on sale in early 2013.
Pre-sale tickets went on sale within a few days of the conclusion of the inaugural Firefly Festival at noon on Tuesday, July 24. Advance three-day passes for the second annual music festival was priced at $148, about $30 cheaper than last year’s pre-sale price and $70 cheaper than the final three-day pass price.
No information about single-day passes or VIP and Super VIP packages has been made available.
The event, which drew guests from 48 states between Friday, July 20 and Sunday, July 22, helped significantly impact the Delaware economy as hotels were booked to capacity all weekend long. As soon as 2013 passes went on sale, many fans sited on Facebook and Twitter that they were already booking rooms and checking out hotel rates.
Next year’s festival will hit the town of Dover a little earlier next year, as rock ‘n’ rollers, indie musicians and fans alike are scheduled to start arriving on Friday, June 21 and staying through Sunday, June 23.
Tourism officials say the music festival fed about $12.6 million into the state and about $8 million in the county.
