A Georgetown man died Wednesday night after losing control of his motorcycle near Frankford, according to state police.
George R. Landon Sr. was operating a 2006 Harley Davidson Road King Classic motorcycle on northbound Pyle Center Road, just south of Daisey Road, just before 9 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve and drove off of the roadway, police said.
Landon was ejected from the motorcycle as it slid into a curve warning sign and a tree.
Landon, who was not wearing helmet, was taken to Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md., but was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.
Pyle Center Road was closed for three hours as police investigated and clear the crash scene.
