Beebe Medical Foundation has less than $785,000 left to raise to meet a fundraising goal of $8 million for its nursing education campaign.
The funds will be used to expand the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Medical Center. The construction plans include demolishing an existing two-story dormitory building and replacing it with a three-story, 18,000-square-foot-building that will house modern classrooms and clinical laboratories.
In June 2011, the Beebe Medical Center board of directors agreed to rename the school of nursing in honor of Margaret H. Rollins, a Lewes native now residing in Atlanta, Ga. Randall and Margaret Rollins gave a $3 million gift to the school through their Ma-Ran Foundation. The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Medical Center is the only hospital-based nursing program in Delaware. In addition, the school is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
