A Bridgeville man is in stable condition after being shot in the back at an apartment complex near Laurel between late Sunday evening and early Monday morning.

The 25-year-old victim was reportedly getting out of his car when he was struck by a bullet in the parking lot behind the 1500 building of Hollybrook Apartments, off of Seaford Road, according to state police.

Laurel police and paramedics arrived at the scene about 12:10 a.m. Monday morning after receiving a 911 call about the incident.

The shooting victim, who police have not identified, was taken to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford.

State police are currently investigating the shooting.
