The area of Cattaraugus County in New York is known for its winter activities, skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling and more.

However, there are great things to do throughout the year.

The fall season offers beautiful views of natures changing colors.

Holiday Valley Ski Resort in Ellicottville, New York is a big attraction. During the warmer months it offers a beautiful 18 hole, par 72 course. It is known for its well groomed greens, plush fairways, and each hole offers golfers a challenge. You will find a golf school, pro-shop, restaurant, bar and snack shop.

Also at this famed ski resort you will find the Sky High Mountain Coaster. The coaster offers visitors an exhilarating ride right through the woods. It is somewhat like a roller coaster, but is lower to the ground following the terrain. It is a thrill as the coaster zig zags on the rails down the mountain. You control the speed. It is fun for the whole family. Children must be 3 and 36 inches to ride with an adult.

Sky High Adventure Park is also located at Holiday Valley. This area of the park offers platforms and bridges built in an area of the woods. Bridges could consist of a log or maybe hanging chunks of wood. It is a challenge to figure out just how to get across to the next platform. It is a strategic and balance test, but does not require strength. The park has different difficulties and some courses have ziplines. Each participant wears a harness and locking lanyard to keeping them safe and from falling if they slip or let go.

Stay tuned for more fun things to do in this area of New York before the snow flies.
