  • UPDATE: Darshon Adkins turned himself in to Delaware State Police at Troop 4 in Georgetown on Tuesday. He later was released on a $4,000 unsecured bond.
State police are searching for a 24-year-old Millsboro man allegedly stole a car that was found on fire in a vacant field Friday night.
Darshon T. Adkins was engaged in a custody dispute at a home in the 29000 block of East State Street in Millsboro about 10:30 p.m. on Friday, according to Delaware State Police spokesman Sgt. Paul Shavack.
At some point during the dispute, Adkins drove off in a 45-year-old Millsboro woman's 2003 Buick Century, Shavack said.
The car was later found fully engulfed in flames in a vacant field off of Harmony Cemetery Road, he said.
An arrest warrant has been issued charging Adkins with theft of a motor vehicle, criminal mischief and violating a no contact order.
Anyone with knowledge of Adkins whereabouts is asked to call Delaware State Police Police at (302) 856-5850, ext. 219 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
