State police are searching for a 24-year-old Millsboro man allegedly stole a car that was found on fire in a vacant field Friday night.

Darshon T. Adkins was engaged in a custody dispute at a home in the 29000 block of East State Street in Millsboro about 10:30 p.m. on Friday, according to Delaware State Police spokesman Sgt. Paul Shavack.

At some point during the dispute, Adkins drove off in a 45-year-old Millsboro woman's 2003 Buick Century, Shavack said.

The car was later found fully engulfed in flames in a vacant field off of Harmony Cemetery Road, he said.
