The Apple Scrapple Festival announces the winners for its baking contest.
Participants had to use fresh apples, and the recipe had to be submitted so that winning recipes could be shared with the public to encourage cooking at home. Recipes will be made available to the public beginning in November through the TS Smith farm market.

Category: Professional; Second place: Andrew Hoovan, Abbots Grill, Milford; Recipe: Apple cranberry cobbler.
Category: Adult; Winner: Lisa Workman, Millsboro; Recipe: Apple cinnamon cheesecake.
Second place: Jean Stokesbury, Seaford; Recipe: Mom mom's apple dumplings.
Third place: Terri Carr, Lewes Recipe: Apple pound cake.
