  • The Delaware's Division of Public Health advises baby boomers to get a one-time blood test for the Hepatitis C virus.
Hepatitis C is the leading cause of liver transplants and primary liver cancer, which is the fastest-rising cause of cancer-related deaths. Hepatitis C is spread through contact with blood from an infected person. People born from 1945 through 1965 currently account for more than 75 percent of adults infected with the virus in the U.S., and are five times more likely to be infected than other adults.
New treatments are available that can cure up to 75 percent of infections. For more information, call (302) 744-1050.
