The Georgetown Police Department has released a list of road closures in connection with the 200th anniversary of Return Day on Thursday, Nov. 8.
Parking on The Circle will not be permitted after noon on Wednesday, Nov. 7.
One block in each direction of The Circle then will be closed to all vehicular traffic starting at 4 p.m. on Wednesday to allow the ox roast and other vendors to begin setting up in advance of the event.
Those closures will include the intersections of West Market and Front streets, East Market and Race streets, North Bedford and Laurel streets and South Bedford and Pine streets.
Those intersections around The Circle will remain closed until about 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 8.
The following intersections and roads will be closed from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Return Day:
U.S. Route 113 and West Market Street
U.S. Route 113 and Arrow Safety Road
East Market and North King streets
Pine and South King streets
East Market Street and Albury Avenue
West Market Street and School Lane Avenue
North and South Margaret streets
Sussex Central Drive
Primary Street
West Market and Robinson streets
West Market Street and South Lane
West Market and South Alley streets
West Market and South Front streets
West Market and North Front streets
East Market and North Race streets
East Market and South Race streets
East Market Street and Layton Avenue
East Market and North Railroad streets
East Market and South Railroad streets
East Market and Kimmy streets
East Market and South King streets
