  • DSP seeking public’s help in identifying Ocean View burglar

  • State police released a photograph Thursday of the burglar who broke into an Ocean View hardware store and made off with numerous handguns on Tuesday.
    A state police spokesman said the burglar broke into the G&E Hardware store at 30264 Cedar Neck Road through a back door about 8:16 p.m.
    The man then shattered a display case containing numerous handguns and removed about 20 weapons of various calibers before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction.
    Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the burglar, who is described as white, between 20 and 30 years old, about 5’8” to 5’10” and about 135 to 150 pounds. He last was seen wearing a black coat, a yellow hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black boots and a camouflage mask.
