State Representative Ruth Briggs King (R-Georgetown) will hold a town meeting at 1 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Long Neck CHEER Center, 26089 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, to discuss some issues directly impacting manufactured housing community residents.
Deputy Attorney General Greg Strong, recently named the director of Delaware's Consumer Protection Unit, has agreed to participate in the public meeting in order to address safety and other consumer protection-related issues. The following issues will be addressed:
- The current Rental Assistance Program and how it works for those with needs.
- The current Council on Manufactured Housing, its purpose and authority.
- The Consumer Protection office and what it can do in regards to enforcement of Manufactured Housing Communities in the Delaware Code (Title 25, Chapter 70).
Rep. Briggs King has also invited a representative from the Delaware Insurance Department to attend to address manufactured homeowners' concerns as they relate to obtaining homeowners insurance.
