  • Sussex Central High School's Take Two Drama Club will present Peter Shaffer's "Amadeus" Thursday, Dec. 13 through Saturday, Dec. 15.
"Amadeus" is a darkly humorous retelling of the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his arch-rival Antonio Salieri, a less-talented composer, who may or may not be trying to kill the young musical genius. The play, which has not been performed in Sussex County in decades, was a Tony Award-winning Broadway hit and an Academy Award-winning film.
"This play offers an incredible learning experience for our actors," says SCHS drama instructor and director David Warick. "I'm so glad we can bring this classic contemporary play to Sussex County. Our cast is remarkable and the audience is in for a great night of theatre, not just a great night of high school theater."
The Thursday and Friday performances have a curtain time of 7:00 p.m., while the show on Dec. 15 is a matinee with a curtain time of 2:00 p.m. General admission is $8 at the door. Students, seniors and military personnel pay $5. Middle school students with ID are admitted on a special two-for-one ticket for $5.00. No one will be turned away for inability to pay.
For school groups and group sales, please call David Warick at (302) 934-3166, extention 420. Concessions will be available during intermission. Sussex Central High School is located at 26026 Patriots Way, Georgetown.
