Charles W. Townsend, age 56, passed away peacefully at his home in PA on December 5, 2012. He was born and raised in Georgetown, DE and was preceded in death by his parents, Wally and June Townsend and his wife of 20 years, Cindy Tucker Townsend.
Charlie is survived by his sister Kathy and husband Russell Cooper, his brother Pete and wife Cindy Townsend, his Aunt Thelma and husband Col. Newt Tyndall. He is also survived by his nieces Kelly and husband Mac Davis and their three children Aaron, Will and Emma, Brandi and husband Adam Pettengell and their two children Oliver and Minnie, Colby and husband Ian Moremen, and Paige Townsend. He is survived by his nephews Scott and wife Alex Townsend and son Max, Casey Cooper and Tyler Townsend. He will be missed by his best friends Bobby and Karen Creek and his mother in law Virginia Tucker.
Charlie worked with horses most of his life and enjoyed all sports. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his personality and his love of life.
Arrangements for cremation were made by Nichol Funeral Home in Washington, PA and a memorial spreading of ashes will take place on Saturday, Dec 15, 2012 at 11am, in a small meadow behind his farm, where his ashes will join his wife’s. They are both resting in peace.
In lieu of flowers or cards, the family requests that donations be made to your local food pantry, in memory of Charlie, so that others may not go hungry.
