The College Board recently recognized Sussex Technical School District on its third-annual Advanced Placement District Honor Roll.
The distinction is given to school districts in the United States and Canada that have increased access to Advanced Placement courses, while also increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP exams.
Eight members of Sussex Technical High School’s Class of 2012 and two members of the Class of 2013 also were recognized as AP Scholars for achieving a score of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.
Senior Priyen Patel was named an AP Scholar with Distinction for passing all of the AP exams he has taken with an average score of greater than 3.5 out of 5 possible points.
“College Board’s AP Honor Roll national distinction is a great honor for our district,” said Kevin Dickerson, the district’s director of support services. “We commend our teachers, counselors, support staff and high school administration for the exemplary services that they provide for our students, as well as fostering an educational climate conducive to student achievement.”
