Delmarva Christian High School students recently participated in a shoe drive and a gift collection to benefit local and global communities.
During a DCHS chapel service held Nov. 15, Shoes 2 Share challenged students to fill three large bins with shoes of all sizes and styles in any condition. Within two weeks of the challenge, student donations filled the bins with enough shoes to fill two more bins. The beneficiaries of the shoes will include international and domestic programs for at-risk youth, disabled persons, homeless victims, veterans, clinics, hospitals and more.
The DCHS students also decided to adopt a giving campaign, Veterans Need Love. Over the course of several weeks, students donated new items for U.S. veterans residing at the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford. Candles, lotions, clothing, blankets, ornaments, and toys are some of the items students collected.
