  • A 46-year-old Rehoboth Beach man was killed early Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash west of Lewes.
Richard O. Magee Jr. was driving a 1998 Jeep Wrangler west on John J. Williams Highway, about a half-mile east of Camp Arrowhead Road, when he lost control while negotiating a slight curve about 12:26 a.m., according to state police.
Magee’s Jeep drove off the north side of the roadway, where it struck two utility poles.
Magee, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected by collision. He later was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
John J. Williams Highway in the area of Camp Arrowhead Road was closed for about four hours while police investigated the crash and cleared the scene.
