  • The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 28 continued its support of Veterans and the community during the Christmas Season by visiting local nursing homes and delivering Christmas packages to children. VA&R Chairman Vickie Gillingham and Santa and his assistants visited Atlantic Shores on Dec. 13 and Renaissance on Dec. 17 and distributed more than 40 packages to Veterans residing in the nursing homes.
Auxiliary Vice President and Community Service Chairman Carol Feeley coordinated the delivery of packages for needy families and Angel Tree gifts to East Millsboro Elementary School, the Oak Orchard Community Church, the Consortium and families both veteran and military within the Post. Families received gifts and clothing for children and a good card from Giant for a holiday meal. The Angel Tree gifts provided children with a special gift they had requested. The Auxiliary supported more than 15 families and 100 Angel Tree requests.
