Students at Delmarva Christian High School in Georgetown participated in several volunteer activities last month that benefitted local and global communities.
Those efforts included a shoe donation drive with the Newark-based Shoes 2 Share organization and a Christmas gift collection drive that benefitted residents of the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford.
In early December, the students donated five large bins of new and used footwear to Shoes 2 Share in response to challenge from Tim Wampler, the president and co-founder of the charitable ministry, which provides shoes to people in need around the world.
Students also donated more than 200 gift items for local veterans to give to their family and friends on Christmas as part of a school campaign called “Veterans Need Love.” The donated items included candles, lotions, clothing, blankets, ornaments, jewelry, toys, books, and gift cards.
Located on Airport Road, Delmarva Christian High School is a non-denominational, faith-based school that serves more than 180 students in ninth through twelfth grades.
