Students and staff at the Sussex Academy of Arts and Sciences in Georgetown made several donations last month to local relief agencies, as well as a school damaged by Hurricane Sandy.
A schoolwide food drive collected more than 700 items that were donated to food pantries in the Georgetown area. The school also donated home supplies to the Seaford Rotary House Project, which provides temporary housing to families in transition.
The school also made a monetary donation to the Monmouth Beach School in Monmouth Beach, N.J. with funds collected through a coin drive.
Located on Sussex Pines Road, the Sussex Academy of Arts and Sciences is a charter school that serves 325 students in the sixth through eighth grades.
