A 21-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday during a home invasion just east of Laurel.
Kyle Newman was taken to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
According to Delaware State Police spokesman Sgt. Paul Shavack, multiple armed suspects wearing dark clothing and dark masks entered a home in the 3200 block of Horsey & Everett Road about 9:30 p.m. and confronted Newman, according to Delaware State Police spokesman Sgt. Paul Shavack.
During the confrontation, Newman was shot in the upper body multiple times. The suspects then fled on foot in an unknown direction, Shavack said.
It was not known Sunday whether any money or property was taken during the incident, he added.
Police are continuing to investigate the homicide and additional information will be released as it become available, he said.
