The daughter of a New Jersey man accused of stabbing a woman in Milton on Thursday is facing criminal charges of her own.
Milton police announced late Friday that they arrested 23-year-old Ellendale-area resident Sheen Floyd while searching for her father, 42-year-old Tyrone Majette of Jersey City, N.J., in connection with the stabbing.
Majette is accused of beating, robbing and stabbing his 26-year-old ex-girlfriend in Milton on Thursday afternoon. Majette fled the area afterward, prompting a manhunt in the Milton, Ellendale and Lincoln areas.
H.O. Brittingham Elementary School, located less than a half-mile from where the attack took place, also was placed on lockdown as a precaution, police said.
During their search, Milton and state police went to Floyd’s home in the 12000 block of Holly Tree Road, northeast of Ellendale.
Milton Police Department spokesman Capt. John Cornwell said Floyd denied knowing Majette and insisted he had not been at her home prior to the stabbing.
After being placed in a state police patrol car, Floyd reportedly began kicking the windows and repeatedly kicked a Milton police officer while attempting to escape.
She is charged with resisting arrest, hindering prosecution, offensive touching of a police officer and disorderly conduct.
Floyd is being held at the Sussex County Correctional Institution in default of a $2,750 secured bond, police said.
Majette later turned himself into to Milton police and was charged with attempted first-degree murder, theft, robbery, burglary, assault and other crimes.
