Nanticoke Health Services will host a community health event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 23 at Laurel Senior High School, 1133 S. Central Ave., Laurel.
There will be free health screenings from 7:30 to 11 a.m. There will also be free blood pressure checks. Cholesterol screenings require a 12-hour fast. A donation of $10 is appreciated but not required. The mission of this event is to provide education and information on many aspects of living a healthy lifestyle.
For sports fans, Washington Redskins retired running back, Clinton Portis, will be onsite for autographs from noon to 2 p.m. Community members are invited to bring a sports item for Portis to sign; merchandise will not be sold at the event.
