The Sussex County Republican Committee will hold elections for its officers on Monday, March 11.
The deadline for Sussex County registered Republicans to file with the Committee for election is Thursday, Feb. 21.
“Sussex is the only county in Delaware that sends a strong Republican majority to Legislative Hall in Dover and to the County Council, and our Committee looks forward to continuing that legacy,”said Acting Chairman John Rieley.
Rieley, who was vice chairman at the time of the late Chairman Jerry Wood’s death, has been acting chairman since Wood passed away on Dec. 28.
The positions of chairman, vice chairman, secretary, treasurer, each of the nine representative districts chairs and the 132 election district committeepersons, are open to election.
All elected positions in the committee are subject to contest when the committee will hold a General Election at the Cheer Center in Georgetown. The three-tier election will commence at 7 p.m.
Sussex Republicans interested in serving their party in any of these positions should call (302) 856-6323, or visit www.GOPSussexDE.org, to file.
Additionally, Committee Secretary Carol Bodine will be at headquarters at 131 E. Market St., in Georgetown, until noon on Thursday, Feb. 21 for last-minute filings.
