A 24-year-old Laurel woman was arrested on drug charges Thursday following a police raid at the Dunbarton Oaks apartment complex.
Tiara Absher is accused of selling heroin out of a relative’s home in the 400 Building of the apartment complex off of West North Street.
Georgetown Police Department spokesman Lt. Lawrence Grose said local officers and Delaware State Police troopers conducted Thursday’s raid on the apartment following a two-month investigation into illegal drug sales.
During the raid, officers reportedly seized several baggies of heroin, as well as marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Absher is charged with possession with the intent to deliver heroin, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She also was wanted by Delaware State Police on additional drug charges, Grose said.
Wilber James, a 28-year-old Georgetown resident, also was arrested during the raid after police learned he was wanted on a warrant issued by the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas. He has since been released, Grose said.
Absher is being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $25,300 secured bond, pending a preliminary hearing at the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas, he said.
