Sussex County officials will present an overview of a proposed $2.6 million extension of the Millville Sanitary Sewer District on Thursday.
The 6 p.m. public hearing at Millville Town Hall, 36404 Club House Road, also will include a discussion of the sewer rates that would be charged to residents and property owners of about 80 parcels along Atlantic Avenue, from Hocker’s Super Center west to St. George’s UMC Church at Clarkesville.
The hearing is part of a wastewater service extension that Sussex County Council voted to develop last year.
Based on public feedback at the hearing, the county’s engineering department will formally recommend whether county council should pursue or forgo the project.
If approved, construction of the sewer extension – including pipes and pump stations – would phased as part of DelDOT’s planned widening of Atlantic Avenue, which is slated to being in 2014.
