  • A Bridgeville man and a Seaford woman were arrested Tuesday after police reportedly found them, two children and nearly 200 bags of heroin in a Seaford hotel room.
Officers with the Sussex County Governor's Task Force responded to the Quality Inn at 255 N. Sussex Highway about 11:15 p.m. after receiving reports of drugs sales in the area, according to Delaware State Police spokesman Cpl. Gary Fournier.
In Room 223, officers found 21-year-old Bridgeville resident Steonte D. Batson, 20-year-old Seaford resident Kai Bacon, and 22-year-old Seaford resident Nakita E. Boothman, all of whom were wanted on outstanding warrants, Fournier said.
Also in the room were two children, both under the age of 2, as well as 193 bags of suspected heroin, totaling more than 4.8 grams, and $1,200 in suspected drug proceeds, he said.
Batson and Bacon each are charged with possession of a controlled substance, conspiracy, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bacon also is charged with criminal impersonation for initially providing officers with a false name, Founier said.
Boothman was arraigned on her outstanding warrants and released.
Batson is being held at the Delores J. Baylor Women's Correctional Institution on $19,500 secured bail.
Bacon is being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on an $18,500 secured bail.
Both children were released to the custody of relatives, Fournier said.
