A Lewes juvenile is charged with arson in connection with a camper trailer fire at the Tall Pines Campground on Thursday.
A 12-year-old Lewes boy is charged with arson in connection with a camper trailer fire at the Tall Pines Campground on Thursday.
The blaze on Pine Tree Road was first reported just before 4:30 p.m., according to Deputy Fire Marshal Harry Miller.
Firefighters from Lewes, Milton and Rehoboth Beach who arrived on the scene discovered heavy fire in one camper that had spread to another.
Damages are estimated at about $15,000, Miller said.
Investigators determined the boy, who reportedly lives in the campground, had started the fire and charged him with second-degree arson and criminal trespass.
The boy later was released to the custody of his parents, pending a hearing in Sussex County Family Court, Miller said.
