Six students in the Seaford school district suffered minor injuries Thursday when their school bus went off the road.
State police said the 2008 Freightliner owned by Chambers Bus Company was heading southeast on Cool Branch Road, southeast of Seaford, about 3:15 p.m. when the bus left the roadway at a curve just west of Kaye Road.
The school bus ended up in a farm field, where it became stuck in the mud, police said.
The six students, ranging in age from 10 to 17, all were treated at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford for non-life-threatening injuries.
The bus driver, 41-year-old Susan M. Burgess of Magnolia, was later cited for failure to maintain a single lane and failure to provide proof of insurance
Traffic near Cool Branch Road was impacted for about an hour while police investigated and cleared the crash.
