The Degree of Pocahontas' Anona Council #11 in Georgetown recently made a $1,000 donation toward the town's effort to build a new playground.
The seven-member Georgetown Playground Committee has been working since last July to collect grants and donations to fund a proposed $147,000 playground on North King Street.
Donations are still being accepted and can be mailed or dropped off at Georgetown Town Hall at 39 The Circle. Check should be made out to "Town of Georgetown" with "Playground" written in the memo section. Donations are tax deductible and contributions of $500 or more will result in donor's names being added to a permanent sign at the playground.
