Dover Police have arrested a fugitive on a drug possession charge.
On Saturday, officers from the Quality of Life Task Force contacted the individual, identified as Romone V. Allen, 30, at an address in the 100 block of South New Street, said department spokesman Lt. Jason Pires.
Allen was wanted out of the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas.
Pires said Allen struggled while being taken into custody, and tried to run away. One officer had his wrist cut during the altercation, he said.
A search indicated Allen was in possession of 8.4 grams of crack cocaine, Pires said.
Allen, of the 400 block of Forkbranch Road, Dover, was charged with possession with the intent to deliver cocaine; possession of drug paraphernalia; second-degree assault; resisting arrest; loitering; disorderly conduct; and being a local fugitive.
He was ordered held in prison in default of a $21,312 secured bond.
