  • A 60-year-old Rehoboth Beach man was taken into police custody April 13 after he allegedly crashed his vehicle into the Taco Bell on Coastal Highway.
Police said Gregory Pflug pulled his 2011 Honda Pilot through the Taco Bell drive through around 11:45 p.m. As he left the drive through and began to drive around the building, police said Pflug accelerated suddenly and drove over a flower bed, through an outdoor seating area, and into the northeast corner of the building. Police said Pflug then exited his vehicle and fled on foot, but was followed by witnesses and quickly apprehended by troopers responding to the crash.
Police said no one was injured during this incident, but the Taco Bell is unable to be occupied until structural repairs are made.
Police said Pflug was issued a traffic summons for driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, failing to have insurance identification in possession, speed exhibition, leaving the scene of a property damage crash, and failing to provide information at the scene of a property damage crash.
