The Town of Georgetown has three positions available to serve on the Board of Adjustment for a term of three years expiring June 2016.
Each board member must be a resident of the town of Georgetown and knowledgeable of the problems of urban and rural development. The Board hears and decides appeals in regards to special exceptions, variances and where it is alleged there is an error in any order, requirement, decision or determination made by an administrative official in the administration or enforcement of Chapter 230, Town Code.
The Board of Adjustment conducts regular meetings on the first Wednesday of each month at 5 p.m., if applicable.
The Town of Georgetown also has two positions available to serve on the Planning Commission.
Each Planning Commission member must be 21 years of age, a property owner and current resident of the Town of Georgetown with an interest in urban and rural planning and development. The Planning Commission addresses zoning, land use, and development issues within the Town of Georgetown. The Planning Commission conducts regular meetings on the third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m., in addition to any workshop sessions pertaining to special projects assigned by the Mayor and Council.
