If you’ve ever developed blisters on your hands from sanding, you’ll appreciate these simple sanding blocks designed by Club member Alan Muir of Flin Flon, Manitoba, Canada. Start with a dressed 15-in. length of 2x2 material. Make a 3/4-in.-deep x 9-in.-long cut with a table saw down the length of the block. Next, shape the handle to create a comfortable grip. Then simply wrap sandpaper around the stick, tuck the ends into the slot and sand away.
