A 25-year-old Georgetown man was taken into police custody on April 22 on several warrants out of various courts throughout the state.

A 25-year-old Georgetown man was taken into police custody on April 22 on several warrants out of various courts throughout the state.

According to the Georgetown Police Department, police were conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle in which Christopher Johnson was a passenger. Police said a computer check showed Johnson was wanted on six active capiases, or warrants, out of the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas, one out of Justice of the Peace Court #8, one out of JP Court #10, and one out of JP Court #11.

Police said Johnson was transported to JP Court #3 and subsequently committed to the Sussex County Correctional Institute on secured bail.
