The Delaware State Police is investigating a complaint of shots fired around 11:50 p.m. on April 26 in the parking lot of the VFW south of Millsboro.
According to police, the incident occurred after a verbal argument between a security guard who was working a private function at the VFW and a patron who refused to leave. Police said when the patron finally entered his vehicle and began to leave, two gun shots were heard coming from the direction of the vehicle.
Police, who were in the area at the time, heard the gunshots and responded to the parking lot. A description of the vehicle was obtained and the troopers were able to make contact with a 19-year-old male driver and a 17-year-old male passenger still in the parking lot. A search of the vehicle yielded no weapons, but the 17-year-old male was found to have two warrants out of local courts. He was transported to Justice of the Peace Court #3 and released to a parent after his arraignment.
