Between April 9 and April 22, the Georgetown Police Department took part in a Distracted Driving Mobilization assignment that was sponsored by the Delaware Office of Highway Safety.

Officers worked traffic assignments to target the illegal use of cell phones by persons operating a motor vehicle. Officers issued 98 traffic summons for illegal use of a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle and 32 traffic summons for other violations. Police also apprehended one subject that was wanted out of a local court for failing to appear for an arraignment.
