  • The Delaware State Police will holds its 3rd annual 10K/5K/1 mile run to raise money for the Camp Barnes summer camp.
    The run/walk is scheduled for May 5 at 1 p.m., rain or shine, at Assawoman Wildlife Refuge at Camp Barnes in Frankford. The Kids Fun Run is at 12:45 p.m.
    The run/walk goes through the Assawoman Wildlife Refuge on country roads and scenic trails. The Kids Run is hold inside Camp Barnes.
    Participants can register at www.seashorestriders.com. The cost is $25 per person. The Kids Run is free, but donations are accepted. Kids do not receive T-shirts, but will be provided awards and lunch. In the run/walk, awards will be presented to overall and master champions, as well as the top three male and female participants in nine age groups.
    A long sleeve T-shirt and lunch is guaranteed to all pre-registered participants in the run/walk. Lunch is available to all non-participants at the cost of $5 for adults and $3 for kids ages 12 and under.
    Camp Barnes is an overnight residential camp run by the DSP and is open to children between the ages of 10 and 13 at no cost to the camper or the family.
