The American Association of Retired Persons and the Georgetown Public Library will offer a driver’s safety course on June 12 from 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. for local senior citizens.
Cars have changed. So have traffic rules, driving conditions, and the roads that senior citizens travel every day. By taking a driver’s safety course, local seniors can learn the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques, and how to operate their vehicle more safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment. Participants will learn how to manage and accommodate common age-related changes in vision, hearing, and reaction time.
The classroom course will cover all these elements and more over a six-hour period. The cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers. Seating is limited and registration is required. For more information, call (302) 856-7958.
