  • Two arrested in large drug bust

  • A 25-year-old Salisbury man and a 20-year-old Delmar woman are facing numerous drug charges after police found them in possession of a large amount of suspected heroin and suspected crack cocaine.

  • A 25-year-old Salisbury man and a 20-year-old Delmar woman are facing numerous drug charges after police found them in possession of a large amount of suspected heroin and suspected crack cocaine.
    According to the Delaware State Police, troopers arrived at the residence of Chelsea Shelton on Denise Boulevard in Delmar around 8:05 p.m. on May 2 in order to conduct follow up on an unrelated investigation. When troopers knocked on the door, Devaurus Bowen could be seen through the window quickly carrying a white plastic bag into the kitchen and placing it under the sink. Shelton provided troopers with consent to search the residence. Police said when one of the troopers removed the white bag from under the sink, he observed four large bags of suspected heroin inside. Bowen and Shelton were taken into custody.
    Police said the white plastic bag contained 210.91 grams of suspected heroin and .76 gram of suspected crack cocaine.
    Bowen was charged with possession of a controlled substance in a tier 5 quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 4 quantity, second degree conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institute on $12,500 secured bail.
    Shelton was charged with possession of a controlled substance in a tier 5 quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 4 quantity, maintaining a drug property, second degree conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was committed to Baylor Women’s Correctional Institute on $13,500 secured bail.
