  • A 50-year-old Millsboro man was taken into custody on May 3 after he led police on a pursuit and would found to be in possession of suspected heroin.
According to the Delaware State Police, troopers attempted to stop Bryan Parsons around 10:15 a.m. as he drove a 2004 Ford van along Hitch Pond Road in Laurel. Police said Parsons failed to stop and attempted to elude troopers while throwing bags of suspected heroin out of the window of his vehicle. Police said Parsons drove into the River Vista development off of Concord Road, where he abandoned the vehicle and ran from troopers, who captured him after a brief foot chase.
Police said a search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of 13 bags of suspected heroin and, a search of Parsons’ home resulted in the recovery of one additional bag of suspected heroin. A juvenile located at Parsons’ residence was turned over to the Division of Family Services.
Police said Parsons was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, resisting arrest with force or violence, tampering with physical evidence, disregarding a police officer’s signal, endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and passing on the right. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institute on $35,550 cash bail.
