A 23-year-old Millsboro man faces traffic and drug-related charges following a May 4 traffic stop at the intersection of Route 113 and Old Laurel Road in Georgetown.
According to the Georgetown Police Department, Joshua Lofland was stopped for a traffic violation and was found to be allegedly operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Police said while Lofland performed field tests, he was allegedly observed throwing a plastic baggie into the grass on the side of the highway. Police said a small amount of a white, powdery substance was found in the baggie and it field tested positive for cocaine.
Police said Lofland was charged with driving under the influence, possession of cocaine, and speeding. Police said he was released on an unsecured bond with a co-signer pending a future court date.
