A body discovered washed ashore May 9 on Fowler Beach in Milton has been identified as a 23-year-old Port Norris, NJ man who went missing following a boating accident on April 4.
According to Jill Fredel, a spokesperson for the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has identified the body as Josh Catlett. His death, Fredel said, has been ruled an accident.
According to the U.S. Coast Guard, Catlett went missing about six miles west of Cape May Point in New Jersey after the boat he was aboard capsized. The 40-foot fishing boat Linda Claire was dredging for crabs when it sank. Two other men on board, 27-year-old Chris Serra and 25-year-old Dave Wood were rescued by good Samaritans.
According to the Delaware State Police, Catlett’s body was discovered around 12:15 p.m. on May 9 by a person walking along Fowler Beach.
