  • The May 24 deadline is fast approaching for Delaware residents to submit applications for the annual low-number hunting license lottery.
Applications must be postmarked on or before May 21, or hand-delivered to the Richardson & Robbins Building in Dover by 4:30 p.m. on May 24. No applications will be accepted after that date under any circumstances.
The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control’s Division of Fish and Wildlife will conduct the lottery drawing for 20 available low-number Delaware hunting licenses with numbers under 1,000 at 9 a.m. on June 4 in the auditorium in the Richardson and Robbins Building.
Licenses will be awarded to the applicants whose names are drawn starting with the lowest and ending with the highest number available via a live drawing. The lottery is open to the public but successful applicants do not need to be present as they will be notified by phone or mail.
To be considered, an applicant must submit a post card to Candace Dunning, Low-Number Hunting License Lottery, Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife, 89 Kings Highway, Dover, Del. 19901. On the post card, include the applicant’s name, street address, city, state, zip code, and daytime phone number. Applications will not be included in the drawing if there is more than one postcard per applicant, or if postcards are received without the required information.
