  • Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge in Milton is beginning a new summer reading program called Refuge Summer Readers.
Youth ages eight to 12 read selected books on their own, then join refuge staff and volunteers for a discussion and activity related to the story once a month – June 18, July 16, and Aug. 13 from 1-3:30 p.m. – in the refuge auditorium.
June’s book is “Bully for You, Teddy Roosevelt!” by Jean Fritz; July’s book is “Earth Heroes: Champions of Wild Animals” by Carol and Bruce Malnor; and August’s book is “John Muir: My Life with Nature” by Joseph Cornell.
Books are available for purchase in the Friends Store at Prime Hook or are available on loan. Participation is free but those interested must call the Refuge at (302) 684-8419 to pre-register for this summer’s program.
