The students were honored at the Carson Scholars Fund Annual Awards Banquet in April in Baltimore, Md.
The Carson Scholars Fund awards college scholarships to students who excel academically and are dedicated to serving their communities. A student is nominated by his or her school. Minimum requirements are a 3.75 GPA and involvement in community service.
The Carson Scholars Fund seeks to combat the American education crisis by discovering promise and rewarding excellence in the nation’s youth through Scholarship and Reading Room programs. The Carson Scholars Fund was founded in 1994 by world-renowned pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson and his wife, Candy.
