The Delaware Public Archives (DPA) celebrated the donation of the George and Irene Caley Postcard Collection with a ceremony and the official unveiling of an exhibit showcasing the collection on June 5.
The collection consists of more than 6,500 Delaware postcards. The postcards date from 1900 to 2002. Some of the subjects found within the collection include local attractions, businesses, houses, churches, and public buildings. During the ceremony, the Secretary of State Jeffrey W. Bullock presented Irene Caley with an official tribute from Governor Jack Markell.
The Archives are encouraging everyone to share their Delaware images so that it can build an album of modern postcards. The collection is now available to the public as well as the website at archives.delaware.gov.
