A 78-year-old Bethesa, Md. man was killed June 14 in a crash on state Route 18, east of Marsh Road, in Georgetown.
According to the Delaware State Police, Thomas F. Ferry was operating a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo eastward on Route 18 around 11 a.m. when, for an unknown reason, his vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic. Police said the Rodeo struck a 2006 GMC Sierra traveling westbound and operated by 65-year-old Thomas D. Slaughter of Bridgeville.
Police said Ferry, who was properly restrained, was pronounced dead at the scene. Slaughter, also properly restrained, was transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and released.
